When it comes to Nespresso, there are so many different types of capsules out there, and some of them can get pricy! If you’re like me, you want to find the best Nespresso capsule to fit your mood (and drink) of the moment.
Let’s take a closer look at the best Nespresso capsules for cappuccino and latte.
What is difference between latte and cappuccino, anyway?
Some coffee purists may disagree with me when I lump latte and cappuccino together, but when it comes to Nespresso capsules, it makes perfect sense.
A latte and a cappuccino are a very similar drink, a cappuccino has much more foam than a latte, however. Want to know more? Check out our in-depth guide to cappuccino vs latte.
Now on to the capsules.
Best Nespresso Capsules for Cappuccino (and Lattes!)
Everyone has a different favorite when it comes to coffee drinks, which is one of the reasons the Nespresso system is so popular. It makes it easy to make the prefect coffee to suit your moods.
Here are some of our top picks when it comes to the best Nespresso capsules for lattes and cappuccinos:
Now let’s take a look at each of these closer, and what makes them so great.
Nespresso Ristretto Inteso Dark Roast Espresso
This has got to be one of my favorite Nespresso capsules. The Nespresso Ristretto Intenso capsules are great if you are looking for a strong coffee flavor, since both a cappuccino and latte have so much milk in them compared to some other coffee beverages.
If you are an espresso fan, you can’t go wrong with Ristretto.
Nespresso Kazaar Dark Roast Espresso
Kazaar is another great dark espresso from Nespresso. Kazaar has some spicy and bitter notes, so if you are really looking for a good kick, it is a great choice.
This may not be for everyone, since it does have a very unique flavor.
Nespresso Volluto Mild Espresso
If you are looking for a milder cappuccino or espresso, then the Nespresso Volluto is the one for you.
It has a very light flavor in contrast to some of the others we looked at. This makes Volluto a great choice for an after dinner cappuccino.
Nespresso Medium & Dark Roast Espresso Variety Pack
Can’t decide on your perfect Nespresso espresso? Neither could I, which is why this variety pack was literally my first purchase for my Nespresso machine.
This variety pack includes:
- Genova Livanto
- Firenze Arpeggio
You can see how these all rank in terms of flavors here:
Like I said, this is a great choice when you are trying to figure out your favorite Nespresso pods since there are just so many options!
Lavazaa Espresso Capsule for Nespresso Variety Pack
While I generally love the Nespresso offerings, I also love Lavazaa espresso and have been drinking that for years and years. That’s why I was excited to once again find a great variety pack.
This was my second purchase for my new Nespresso machine!
Once again, this has a wide variety of offerings in a single pack so you can experiment and find your favorite. It also includes a decaf, which is a must have in my house.
This is another great option if you like to vary your coffee drinks throughout the day like I do.
Choosing the Best Nespresso Capsules for Cappuccino and Latte
Let’s take a look at these awesome Nespresso capsules one more time:
First things first, if you know what you want, go for it!
Nespresso Ristretto Inteso Dark Roast Espresso is a really classic dark espresso that is enjoyed by pretty much everyone who likes a strong coffee flavor.
Next up, another super intense Nespresso capsule is the Nespresso Kazaar Dark Roast Espresso with its unique flavor.
Looking for something a bit milder, then the Nespresso Volluto Mild Espresso is a great choice.
If you’re undecided, there are a number of variety packs you can choose.
For cappuccinos and lattes specifically, the Nespresso Medium & Dark Roast Espresso Variety Pack is a great choice with Nespresso.
Also, remember there are other capsules out there besides the official Nespresso ones. I love Lavazaa because it is one of my favorite coffee brands, especially this Lavazaa Espresso Capsule for Nespresso Variety Pack.
You really can’t go wrong with any of these options.
How to make a cappuccino with a Nespresso machine
Wondering if you can make a cappuccino with Nespresso? You bet you can!
Making cappuccino is easy with your Nespresso machine. First, brew your shot of espresso.
Next, you need to froth your milk. This is the tricky part that is often overlooked, because it depends on the Nespresso machine you have. Many Nespresso machines have built in frothing arms, and or the aeroccino is also an option.
Pour the hot milk into your espresso, and top with foam!
Can I use a Nespresso capsule twice?
Remember the saying just because you can doesn’t mean you should? You can use a Nespresso capsule twice, but don’t expect it to taste nearly as good the second time! Nespresso capsules are designed to be use only once. While it will work the second time, it just won’t taste as good!
Hopefully this guide helped you figure out the best Nespresso capsules for your favorite espresso drinks! You can’t go wrong with anything on this list!
